New York Accident Prevention Course Credit

If your policy is rated for the state of New York, you could save up to 10% on applicable coverages by taking an accident prevention course. New York's DMV website has a list of available accident prevention course providers in New York. Please review this list to find the most convenient course provider for you.

GEICO policyholders who wish to take an online course through the American Safety Council, the National Safety Council or the New York Safety Program should follow these links:

Completing one of these accident prevention courses offers you the following benefits:

• Discounted course price for GEICO policyholders.
• Convenient processing. After successful completion, a copy of the course completion certificate will automatically be sent to GEICO. Your policy will then be updated to reflect the discount.

In order to receive credit from GEICO for other courses, eligible policyholders have the following options available:

1. Submit a copy of the course completion certificate via fax to 1-866-953-9178, attention: "Policy Processing;" or
2. Mail a copy to:

Be sure to submit the certificate within 45 days of course completion and include your policy number on all correspondence. Once the certificate has been processed, you will receive verification of the savings by mail.

In New York, you may be eligible for this discount if:

• You have completed an accident prevention course approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
