Alabama has no minimum wage law but is covered under the federal standard minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. Alabama's child labor laws restricts 16, 17, and 18 year old youths who are enrolled in high school from working past 10:00 p.m. on any night preceding a school day. Employees are required to immediately report any injuries during work hours.*

Alcoholic Beverages
Employees must be: 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages for the consumption on premises (19 if licensee is RVP certified). 18 years of age to work in that part of an establishment where alcoholic beverages are sold or served for consumption on premises. Exception: Minors 16 and older may be employed in such establishments as busboy, janitors, dishwashers, cooks, hostesses, or seaters. 14/15 year olds MAY NOT work in an establishment where alcoholic beverages are sold, served, or dispensed for consumption on premises.*
